Who Makes Your Cotton Clothing

Master Ji – Head Tailor, handmakes your Cotton Conscious clothing alongside his co-workers who live on the same street. Master Ji lives with his wife and two beautiful children above his tiny workshop.

This set up keeps all the family together, whereas many people in India leave their families behind as they migrate to the big cities for work, often not seeing their loved ones for months or sometimes up to a year.

Master Ji’s daughter comes home from school and loves to help out, checking that all the mother of pearl buttons have been hand sewn correctly by the local Guru Ji who works in complete silence.

There is always a regular supply of delicious sweet Chai by his wife who is always trying to get us to eat much more than we need too.

master ji tailor scissorsFor 6 months of the year, we work alongside a two tailors in a traditional mill and workshop in the Himalayas, India. We slowly create small quantities of timeless, stylish and practical Cotton Conscious garments. The tailors are fairly paid, directly by us.

Everything is designed and handmade ethically in-house (a humble, traditional tailors workshop in Rishikesh, India) also known as “The Land of the Gods”). We believe you can feel a special energy in the fabric that can only be found when wearing handcrafted clothes.
